This Cookie Policy explains how SpyHuman uses cookies and similar technologies on our website, why we use them, how long they last, and how you can control them. Read it with our Privacy Policy and Data Protection notice. Our aim is to use only what is needed and to give you real control over the rest, without dark patterns or pre-ticked boxes.
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They help a site work, remember your choices, keep you secure, and understand how the site is used. Cookies can be "session" cookies that end when you close the browser, or "persistent" cookies that stay for a set period until they expire or you delete them. A cookie set by the site you are visiting is a "first party" cookie, while one set by another service is a "third party" cookie.
We use cookies for a few clear reasons: to keep the site secure and working, to remember practical choices such as your language, and to understand in aggregate how people use the site so we can improve it. We do not use cookies to secretly track individuals, to build hidden profiles, or to sell your browsing to advertisers.
We may also use similar technologies such as pixels, tags, and local storage, which work in comparable ways. In this policy, references to cookies include these technologies.
Two third parties receive a request from your browser when you load a page here, even before any cookie is set: Cloudflare, which serves and protects the site, and Google Fonts, which serves the typeface. Both see your IP address as part of that request. Google Analytics is loaded on every page but stays inert until you accept.
| Category | Purpose | Examples | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Bot filtering and security checks run by our CDN, Cloudflare, so the site stays available. Set by Cloudflare, not by us. | __cf_bm (about 30 minutes), cf_clearance (up to 1 year, only if you are shown a security challenge) | Always on |
| Functional (device storage, not a cookie) | Remembers the cookie choice you made, and whether a page has already shown you its one-time notice, so you are not asked again. Stored in your browser only; it is never sent to our servers. | sh_cookie_consent in localStorage (180 days), *_popup_shown in sessionStorage (cleared when you close the tab) | Always on |
| Analytics / performance | Google Analytics 4 tells us which pages people read and where they leave, in aggregate. Set only after you accept, and blocked by Google Consent Mode until then. | _ga (2 years), _ga_KPR8K0R2NW (2 years) | Optional, off until you accept |
| Advertising | None. We run no advertising or remarketing tags on this site. | - | Not used |
Optional cookies are set only after you consent, and never before.
We set strictly necessary cookies because they are required for the site to function, which is our legitimate interest in providing a working, secure service. For all other cookies, we rely on your consent, in line with GDPR and India's DPDP Act. You can give or refuse this consent through our banner, and change it later at any time.
The exact lifetimes are listed in the table above. In short: Cloudflare's security cookie lasts about 30 minutes; the Google Analytics cookies last 2 years from your last visit, and the underlying analytics data is retained for 14 months in Google Analytics; your cookie choice is kept on your own device for 180 days, after which we ask again. You can delete any of them at any time from your browser settings.
You can accept or reject optional cookies through our consent banner and change your choice later at any time from the same control. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it, and takes effect going forward. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as a refusal: optional cookies stay off and the banner is not shown. You can still opt in afterwards from the "Cookie settings" link in the footer, which overrides the signal for this site.
Your choice and its date are stored in your own browser under sh_cookie_consent. It stays on your device, is not transmitted to us, and is used only to decide whether analytics may run and when to ask you again. Clearing your browser storage erases it, and the banner will ask once more.
If you turn off optional cookies, the site will still work, but some conveniences, such as remembering your language, may not carry over between visits. If you block strictly necessary cookies, core features such as staying logged in may fail. You are always free to make that trade-off.
Most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies through their settings, usually under privacy or security options. You can also open a private or incognito window, which limits how long cookies persist. If you clear cookies, some of your saved preferences will reset, and you may see our consent banner again.
Some cookies may be set by trusted third party services, such as analytics providers. Their use of any data they collect is governed by their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review. We only enable such cookies where you have consented.
Cookie data that relates to you is personal data, so your rights under our Data Protection notice apply to it. You can ask about, or object to, cookie based processing using the contacts there. Our named Grievance and Data Protection contact is Nirav Solanki, Grievance Officer, [email protected].
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the technologies we use or the law, and we will change the "Last updated" date when we do. Questions can be sent to [email protected]. Support runs 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM IST, Monday to Saturday, by email and live chat only.
